Art for a Cause

Creating Change, One Brushstroke at a Time

Rouge: Original Art for a Cause 2020

Art Sale-cum-Charity-Fundraiser

From 20 Dec to 15 Nov 2020, my friend Aditi and I ran a fundraising campaign online to share art, spark conversations, and raise awareness of our charity partners making a difference in the world. We are very proud to partner with Aidha, Art Outreach and Food from the Heart during this challenging 2020 to support communities and causes that are most impacted by the global pandemic.

Through online art sales and matching programs, we raised a total of $7,898 on behalf of these non-profit organizations. We are humbled by the support and donations from our patrons from both Singapore and abroad. Thank you!

Your donation will be used to bring hot cooked meals to beneficiaries, host community outreach initiatives to empower underprivileged children through exposure to visual arts, and enable financial education classes for foreign domestic workers and low-income Singaporean women. In addition to your kind donation, we also hope you enjoy the art pieces you purchased, to bring some sparkle to your home, or a smile to a loved one.

We also spread the mission of our charity partners through sharing stories. Rouge was featured in: The Home Ground Asia | Danamic | SG Magazine | Vanilla Luxury | Singapore Art & Gallery Guide | Fly Magazine | Melting Pot Podcast | Honeycombers Singapore | Everyday People

A perfect pick for this season of gifting.

Art for the Community by the Community.

Art tells people who we are, where we come from, and represents what’s important to us. It is a visual language that cuts across cultures and languages. Art celebrates the human spirit, promotes imagination, spurs innovation, offers comfort and promotes understanding. Art Outreach uses art to expose students and extend their access to the humanities, and offers engaging public and awards programs that support emerging artists and curators. Read more

Change a woman's life today. Give her the gift of education.

Financial empowerment is essential to a secure future. Aidha is passionate about changing the lives of foreign domestic workers and other low-income women by providing them with the skills and confidence to save, invest and start businesses of their own. Over 5,000 women have already completed their courses. By empowering women we empower their families and communities, with 9 lives impacted for every woman who goes through Aidha’s courses. $100 covers the cost of a $100 scholarship for a self-supporting student.

$250 covers the materials costs and $100 scholarships for two self-supporting students.

Food from the Heart

$25 brings 7 meals to the beneficiary.

$100 brings 28 meals to the community.

All donation will be used to support Project Belanja!Project Belanja! is a cooked meal initiative that bridges these gaps by providing hot meals that can be redeemed with their beneficiary card at designated food stalls in their neighbourhoods. Project Belanja! not only gives beneficiaries the dignity of choice, it also widens the variety of food they get to choose from as well as cuts out the need for delivery. Patronising the hawker stalls helps beneficiaries create friendships in the neighbourhood while also boosting the hawkers sales as the meals are paid by you, the sponsors. As Food from the Heart is able to track the meal redemptions, it also allows for early intervention if a beneficiary stops redeeming meals.

SPCA’s Paws for a Cause 2023

Bespoke art piece for SPCA Charity Gala Benefit

In 2023, I was invited to create a custom piece for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA). SPCA Singapore strives to promote kindness and prevent animal cruelty through education, advocacy and action. Every month, SPCA takes in over 100 animals. Most of them are abandoned, unwanted, abused, sick, injured or lost. SPCA runs Singapore's only not-for-profit Community Animal Clinic, providing quality medical care to animals in need at free or highly subsidized rates.

At the gala benefit auction, my work raised $1,000 for SPCA. Thank you. I’m humbled to make a small difference in the care and love of the animals walking through SPCA’s doors.
